MANILA, Philippines—Things are looking up for multi-titled head coach Roger Gorayeb in his battle with multiple myeloma.
In a video posted on Twitter by former Ateneo player Gretchen Ho, Gorayeb was seen able to walk on his own power. He started chemotherapy in late 2019.
“He’s been undergoing chemotherapy but we’re happy to see him so much stronger,” said Ho in the tweet. “Cheers to LIFE.”

Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that forms in plasma cells, which are responsible for making antibodies.
Gorayeb, a 22-time NCAA champion with San Sebastian, being able to walk on his own with the help of a cane is already a big step in the right direction for his recovery.
Just a special anecdote on Coach Roger.
