Gianna Bryant’s No. 2 jersey retired by her high school

MANILA, Philippines—Love and support for the late Gianna Bryant continued on after her high school, Harbor Day School, retired her No. 2 jersey Thursday.

Vanessa Bryant, Gianna’s mother and the wife of the late great Kobe Bryant, posted on social media the pictures and videos of the ceremony.

“My Gianna. God I miss you,” wrote Vanessa on Instagram. “I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would’ve been until my last breath.”

“Mommy loves you to the moon and back. Infinity plus 1. #2 #Mambacita #GigiBryant.”

Faculty members and the school’s other student athletes paid tribute to Gianna, 13, who passed away in a helicopter crash talong with her father Kobe and seven other people in Calabasas, California on Jan. 26.

“My Gigi. I love you! I miss you. You’ve taught us all that no act of kindness is ever too small. Mommy is still and will ALWAYS be so proud of you mamacita. #2,” also posted Vanessa.

The University of Connecticut, Gianna’s dream college, also honored the younger Bryant when the Huskies draped over a No.2 jersey on one of the courtside seats during their exhibition game against Team USA.
