MANILA, Philippines–NLEX guard Jericho Cruz will be playing for Guam in the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers after making it to the team’s final roster.
Guam faces New Zealand at home on Sunday in the first window of the qualifiers. Its game against Hong Kong originally scheduled for Thursday was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Cruz was born in Pasig City but grew up in Saipan, which part of the Northern Mariana Islands along with Guam. He moved back to the Philippines and played for Rizal Technological University and Adamson before getting drafted into the PBA.
He also represented the Northern Marianas Islands in the 2008 Fiba Oceania Youth Tournament,
The Philippines also plays its lone game in the first window against Indonesia on Sunday after the home game against Thailand was likewise moved to a later date by Fiba.
