MANILA, Philippines—WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, real-life Solofa F. Fatu Jr., is set to hold wrestling clinics throughout the Philippines as part of a publicity tour for new promotion World Wrestling Asia.

KnokX Pro and RED Boxing International collaborated for the formation of WWA with the promotion bringing in Fatu, Reno “Black Pearl” Anoa’i and James “Maverick” Rikiel to the country on March 15.

There will also be a WWA tour of the Philippines in August wherein they will hold shows across different parts of the country to promote pro wrestling to the masses.

FEATURED STORIES

Prior to the shows, the WWA will host a “Road to the Philippines” show in Los Angeles, California and it will be broadcast live to build awareness and anticipation for the cards.

Fatu, who’s the father of former WWE tag team champions Jimmy and Jey Usos, and Anoa’i, who’re both members of the Samoan Dynasty, founded KnokX Pro and their school has been a breeding ground with its alumni eventually moving to the WWE, WWE NXT, and Major League Wrestling.

KnokX Pro, which is located in the heart of Southern California, has also produced independent wrestling tours including the 2009 Hulkamania Australia Tour, Nu Wrestling Evolution, and various high profile shows in Hollywood.

The Samoan Dynasty is considered as the most storied lineage in professional wrestling originating with “High Chief” Peter Maivia and the Wild Samoans—Afa and Sika Anoa’i.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, arguably the biggest movie star on the plane, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna, the Usos, and the Headshrinkers are all part of the Samoan Dynasty.
