Peñalosa triathlon 3rd leg champion
FRANKLIN Peñalosa turned his performance up a notch in the bike leg to rule the third leg of the Century Tuna National Age-Group Triathlon series in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, yesterday.
Peñalosa, the top finisher in the 35-39 age division, compensated for his so-so effort in the 1.5 km swim leg with a strong 40 km cycling performance before cruising in the 10 km run to win in 2 hours, 17 minutes and 34 seconds.
He finished close to 15 minutes ahead of second placer Jami Ramirez (2:32:17), who went on to top the 18-24 category.
