Molde, UP post first win at expense of UE

MANILA, Philippines—University of the Philippines barged into the winning column after overcoming University of the East, 25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 25-17, Saturday in the UAAP Season 82 women’s volleyball at Mall of Asia Arena.

Isa Molde exploded with 24 points, while Tots Carlos added 15 for the Maroons, who recovered from a loss to Ateneo early this week.

“We are happy that we scored our first win, and we scored the first win ever for our rookies, some of them are even crying,” said Carlos.

Molde also had four of the Lady Maroons’ seven blocks which threw wrench on the Lady Warriors offense. UE fell to 0-2.

Mary Ann Mendrez led UE with 21 points, while Janeca Lana added 17.
