De Liaños boost Nueva Ecija’s roster

After declaring that they will not suit up for the University of the Philippines this season, brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño will focus on their stint with the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Vanguards coach Charles Tiu, who handled the siblings with Mighty Sports in a Dubai tournament early this year, said the acquisition of the Gomez De Liaño brothers is just the beginning of a series of acquisitions in line with the team‘s commitment to its fans to form a title contender for the next MPBL Season.

Apart from the Gomez de Liaño siblings, Nueva Ecija also acquired local boy and former PBA player Renz Palma, who recently played for Alaska.
