Eumir Marcial and Irish Magno began their journey to the Olympics six years ago as scholars of the Olympic Solidarity Movement.

Now all that hard work has reaped its rewards as both Filipino boxers made it to the Tokyo Olympics.

Marcial capped a scintillating campaign in the Asia and Ocenia Olympic Boxing Qualifying Tournament with a gold medal in the middleweight division.

Magno, meanwhile, is the first Filipino lady pug to earn an Olympic trip.

The International Olympic Committee saw the potential in Marcial and Magno back in 2014 and were granted with a $500 monthly allowance since then as assistance to reach their Olympic dreams.
