Former NFL Super Bowl winner Gronkowski joins WWE

MANILA, Philippines—Rob Gronkowski is back… in the WWE.

A tight end worthy of a spot in the NFL’s Hall of Fame, Gronkowski signed with the WWE three years after he made an appearance with the company that’s according to a report from The Wrap’s Tony Maglio.

Gronkowski, who’s nicknamed Gronk, is set to appear on the March 20 edition of SmackDown Live (March 21 in the Philippines) and will be in a feud that would set him for an appearance at Wrestlemania 36 on April 5.

The three-time Super Bowl winner is also set to have a match after Wrestlemania 36.

Gronkowski’s first appearance in WWE was in Wrestlemania 33 wherein he helped Mojo Rawley in eliminating Jinder Mahal in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Gronk and girlfriend Kostek also partied with WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, her husband and WWE Executive Vice President Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and then 24/7 champion Rawley back in February.

Bill Belichick, Gronkowski’s coach with the New England Patriots, was also in the occasion.

Gronkowski is regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history after amassing three Super Bowls, four All-Pro selections, 521 receptions for 7,861 yards, and 79 receiving touchdowns.
