MANILA, Philippines—PBA player Japeth Aguilar and his wife Cassandra Naidas joined the efforts of helping the frontliners amid the country’s combat against the Covid-19 outbreak.
In a Twitter post, Cassandra and Japeth announced a crowdsourcing effort that pledges to donate 2,000 face masks for the health workers.

As of Wednesday, the couple’s crowdsourcing efforts have amassed P86,613 and 600 N-95 masks.
“That money will go to purchasing surgical masks as well as N-95 masks for our frontliners. Thank you so much to everyone that has donated,” said Cassandra, who was a high school basketball player for Assumption Antipolo and briefly trained with De La Salle in college.
Japeth, who plays for Barangay Ginebra, said that he and his wife already found a supplier for the facemasks and that they’ll be donating to hospitals.
Naidas-Aguilar is also a former beauty queen and placed runner-up in the Miss World Philippines 2015.
