Floyd Mayweather unlikely to fight this year after family deaths

MANILA, Philippines—Floyd Mayweather’s rumored comeback may have to wait.

According to a TMZ report, Mayweather reportedly  told people close to him that he would possibly shelve his plans of returning to the boxing ring after the deaths of uncle Roger Mayweather and Josie Harris, the mother of Mayweather’s three children.

Roger, who was also Mayweather’s trainer, and Harris both died in a span of one week.

Mayweather (50-0), as per TMZ, was expected to have a crossover event involving the UFC and another bout against a star boxer.

Another thing that has struck Mayweather deeply was the sudden passing of close friend Kobe Bryant, who died of helicopter crash in January.

Mayweather took to Instagram to share his grief over uncle Roger and Harris and his posts evidently reflected his pain.

The legendary boxer had 14 posts dedicated to Harris and a couple for his uncle.
