MANILA, Philippines—San Beda-Taytay’s Rhayyan Amsali leads the new crop of players who will play in the 2020 National Basketball Training Centre All-Star Game with National University’s big men also on the top of the pool.
The 6-foot-3 Amsali led the Red Cubs to the NCAA juniors’ title in Season 95, which was the team’s first title in four years, and was the top player in the NCAA NBTC 24.
Nazareth School of NU big men Carl Tamayo and Kevin Quiambao are the no.2 and no.3 players in the All-Star Game after leading the Bullpups to their second straight UAAP title.
Tamayo was named the Finals MVP in Season 82 while Quiambao was the no.1 player in the UAAP NBTC 24.
UAAP Season 82 MVP Jake Figueroa of Adamson University and NCAA MVP John Barba of Lyceum will be making their first appearances in the All-Star Game after placing in the fifth and seventh spots, respectively.
Other first-timers are Ateneo’s Josh Lazaro and LeBron Lopez, Far Eastern University-Diliman’s Penny Estacio and Cholo Anonuevo, San Beda’s Justine Sanchez and Yukien Andrada, Letran’s Joshua Ramirez, Hope’s Joshua Cajucom, Xavier’s Miguel Tan, University of Cebu’s Isaiah Blanco, and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo’s Mike Boniel.
Completing the lineup are returning players Mac Guadana of the Junior Pirates, Bismarck Lina of University of Santo Tomas, Terrence Fortea and Gerry Abadiano of the Bullpups, Jonnel Policarpio of Mapua, Forthsky Padrigao of the Blue Eaglets, and Tony Ynot of the Red Cubs.
