Pacquiao takes a big risk

Manny Pacquiao has stepped up in a big way in the battle against the coronavirus global pandemic, Yahoo Sports reported.

Kevin Iole, Yahoo combat columnist, said Pacquiao has gone as far as risking his life In the noble fight.

“He has not only put his boxing career on hold and donated his own money in the fight to help defeat the virus, but said he will work with Filipino citizens whenever he has to—even at the risk of his own health,” Iole wrote.

————————-Iole said Pacquiao has declared the need to be front and center in the fight against the coronavirus plague.

“If you are a leader, you have to be a front-liner; you have to lead and let the people see that you are with them,” Pacquiao was quoted as saying.

Iole, who has covered many of Pacquiao’s big fights, including various training sessions in Las Vegas, noted that the fighting Filipino senator has spent money on housing, hospitals, schools and churches, among other things, to help poor countrymen.

“He’s not afraid to die and work where his help is needed most,” Iole said.

————————-There was no effort from Iole to comment on the early response of world leaders like US President Donald Trump and President Duterte on the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump had initially brushed aside the novel coronavirus as not too significant, saying it would dissipate by itself.

In the end though, it was humility that would prove to be a promising deterrent to the pandemic.

The move by Chinese President Xi Jinping to order an instant lockdown in Wuhan, believed to be the original epicenter of the coronavirus, has started to draw awe and respect all over the world.

Xi, just like the great Mao Zedong, did agree to “lie down, bleed a little” (before rising again.)Fresh reports said President Xi has obviously succeeded in quietly containing the spread of the coronavirus in China’s Hubei province.

China has also been offering to send help and medics to other affected countries. INQ
