MANILA, Philippines—In an effort to raise money for medical frontliners in the Philippines, esports company Mineski Global has launched a fundraiser called the “Lockdown Games” which will feature PBA’s resident gamers among others.
The tournament, which began March 24, has already amassed P250,000 in donations so far, all of which will go beneficiaries at the UP Medical Foundation. It will last until April 13.
Those who are lending their hand in the campaign are six-time MVP June Mar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, Japeth Aguilar, and Kiefer Ravena who will figure in a DoTA 2 showmatch.
Former Gilas coach Chot Reyes, who is now the esports president of Philippine Collegiate Championships League vowed to bring in more sports personalities to help Mineski Global’s advocacy.
“Every Filipino must do his part to keep the community spirit up,” said Reyes in a press release.
