MANILA, Philippines—Barangay Ginebra drew solid games from Jackson Vroman and Mike Cortez as it turned back Air21, 103-87, Wednesday night to forge a playoff for an outright semifinals berth in the 37th PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Vroman dished out another all-around effort with 19 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two blocks while Cortez had 18 points and nine assists to lead the Gin Kings to their third straight win.
Ginebra will slug it out with either Talk ‘N Text or B-Meg for the other semis slot.
Marcus Douthit and RJ Jazul each had 19 points to pace the Express. Douthit also grabbed 23 rebounds.
