BRC takes its turn: Manalo-Tiu showdown tipped

DEFENDING champion Martin Manalo of RSL Motorsports and six-time national titlist Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanche Racing gear up for another clash for top honors as the 2012 Philippine Drag Racing Championships Southern Series stages its second leg today at the Batangas Racing Circuit drag strip in Rosario, Batangas.

Manalo, the pride of Batangas, is gunning for his second straight triumph in the premiere M&H Pro class, while Tiu is seeking his third straight win in the Quick 8 division. A total of 120 drivers are expected to vie in the races.

Tiu booted out Manalo in the semifinal round and ruled the Quick 8 during the Batangas kickoff last month. They met anew in the M&H Pro finals where Manalo raced to victory after Tiu succumbed to a red-light violation.
