MANILA, Philippines—Adamson University continued its efforts in helping the medical frontliners who are battling COVID-19 in Metro Manila.
The school lent out two of its buses to help transport the staff of Makati Medical Center on Thursday morning.
One of the routes travels to and from Paliparan-Molino Road while the other will begin its pick-up at LRT Monumento Station.
“We are deploying two buses daily to transport the staff of Makati Medical Center because there’s transport right now. To help them get to work and home safe, we gave them our buses,” said Adamson’s representative to the Board of Managing Directors Fr. Aldrin Suan, CM.
Adamson also opened the women’s volleyball team dormitory to house several health workers from Philippine General Hospital.
The dorm is housing 30 staff from PGH, and while the frontliners are doing their best against the virus, the Falcons and Lady Falcons are providing help to the health workers.
“We are giving them accommodation and also food, every week a new group comes in because their duties are a week-long, then they take a break for a week, so a new group comes in after that,” said Suan.
Adamson’s student-athletes who are still living in their dorms continued their drive of distributing groceries and packed meals to various Manila barangays.
There are 62 student-athletes from the softball, women’s basketball, pep squad, football, and baseball teams residing inside the campus and they’re the ones leading the initiative to help out Manila citizens.
“They’re not stopping because within Manila, there are around 160 families whom we are helping,” said Suan, whose school also has pocket communities from Valenzuela and Parañaque.
