Meggie Ochoa, the country’s jiujitsu queen, will lead “Sweat to Protect,” an online fundraiser featuring a couple of instructional demos and talks to ramp up donations for Project SAFE and awareness on online sexual exploitation of children (Osec).
“[O]ur main motivation is to use what we have to contribute to the efforts in Project SAFE,” Ochoa told the Inquirer on Friday. “But this is also a good way to raise awareness on Osec while getting people active and fit during this season when health matters a lot.”
Joining Ochoa in the Saturday event are Mariana Bantug, Paui Peña and Chrissie Torres-Jamlang. The program, to be moderated by Katz Salao and video jock Anton Fausto, will begin streaming at 9 a.m. through Fight to Protect’s Facebook page (fb.com/fight2protect).
The International Justice Mission and Nazarene Compassionate ministries will join the program to talk about Osec and the community-based initiative.
