MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra players and coaches worked together in repacking face masks which will be delivered to 16 hospitals throughout the country to help fight the spread of the coronavirus disease pandemic.

The Gin Kings, led by the winningest coach in PBA history in Tim Cone and stars Stanley Pringle, Mark Caguioa, Japeth Aguilar and Joe Devance, used the long break the best way they could by helping out.

The charity work is part of San Miguel Corporation’s donation drive of providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical front-liners.

The PBA managed to hold just one playdate on March 8 before deciding to suspend its 45th season indefinitely three days later due to the deadly virus.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial had said the league will wait until August on whether to cancel its 45th season or push through by playing just one conference.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 320 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the total number of infections in the country to 10,004.
