MANILA, Philippines — After providing personal protective equipment for frontliners, the country’s volleyball stars are far from done in doing their part in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

The Volleyball Community Gives Back PH (VCGBPH), a group led by Alyssa Valdez, Charo Soriano, Amy Ahomiro, Gretchen Ho, Aby Maraño and Amanda Villanueva, had already provided 2,000 PPEs distributed to Sultan Kudarat, Quezon Medical Center Batangas, Aklan, Puerto Galera, Cebu, Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro, Muntinlupa and Quezon City.

The PPEs were produced through the #ServeOurFrontliners: RAFFLES FOR HEROES campaign, a fundraiser where volleyball players’ memorabilia like jerseys and shoes were raffled off.

This time, VCGBPH has linked up with celebrities for the same cause as the country continues to fight against COVID-19.

“We are continuously producing PPEs to serve our front-liners and we plan to keep on donating them through the referral hospitals in various provinces as well as here in Metro Manila,” said VCGBPH.

Among the pre-loved items are Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s sneakers, actor Dingdong Dantes’ motorcycle helmet and Kathryn Bernardo’s two pairs of sunglasses.

Derek Ramsay, Jennylyn Mercado, Rovilson Fernandez, Angelica Panganiban, Marco Gumabao, Mimiyuuh, Elisse, Hashtag Luke and Paulo Arvie are also taking part of the Celebrity Bundle raffle, with all the proceeds to be dedicated to producing more PPEs.

All raffle items will be shipped once the lockdown has been lifted.

Donations can be sent to Ryan Sordan through BPI bank account 8069 0632 77, GCash at 0917-5003390 and PayMaya at 0917-5003390.

In a separate #CareForAll campaign for game day volleyball personnel, VCGBPH has already distributed care packs to about 175 families.

“The list of personnel and officials that need assistance are increasing and we are preparing for the third wave of distribution already.”

VCGPH will also have a unified Philippine Volleyball Community Variety Concert online to raise funds for the #CareForAll campaign.
