MANILA, Philippines — PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial hopes the league office will be able to return to work in “full force” beginning Monday when the country transitions into more relaxed quarantine measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In ensuring such, all of the league’s employees, including Marcial himself have started to undergo COVID-19 testing.
“Of course, we’re hoping everybody’s negative and that we can all go back to attend our duties full force by June,” said Marcial in a story on the PBA website.
A six-hour sanitation of the league’s office in Libis, Quezon City is also scheduled on Sunday.
Starting Monday, Metro Manila will be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) where several indoor and outdoor non-contact sports such as running, biking, golf, swimming, tennis, equestrian and skateboarding will be allowed, as per the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“This makes us optimistic that our teams can be allowed to return to the gym for individual workouts by shift,” said Marcial.
