MANILA, Philippines — The PBA on Monday fined Barangay Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar and Rain or Shine rookie Adrian Wong P20,000 each after they were caught in a video playing five-on-five basketball last week.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial has also ordered Aguilar and Wong to undergo a swab test no later than Tuesday and take a 14-day quarantine before taking a second swab test to ensure that they’re both free from the coronavirus disease.

The two, who were summoned by Marcial on Monday afternoon, have also been required to do 30 hours of community service, as per the PBA website.

Aguilar and Wong along with Gilas Pilipinas pool member Isaac Go and Japan-bound Thirdy Ravena among others violated quarantine protocols strictly imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases when they played in a private court in San Juan.

Aguilar and Wong, according to Marcial, were both apologetic for their actions.

Go, picked first overall by the Columbian Dyip in last year’s draft, is currently on loan to the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for the program’s preparations ahead of the 2023 Fiba World Cup.
