SBP ‘still assessing’ candidates for next Gilas naturalized player
MANILA, Philippines — The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas said the search is still on for a new naturalized player for Gilas Pilipinas.
SBP director for operations Butch Antonio said the country’s basketball federation is still evaluating players who are qualified for the job.
“As far as I know, we haven’t filed any bills on naturalization right now,” Antonio said in Filipino during Tuesday’s PSA Forum online webcast.

Among the popular names being tipped to be Gilas’ next naturalized player are Barangay Ginebra’s resident import Justin Brownlee and former San Miguel Beer reinforcement Chris McCullough.
Both Brownlee and McCullough have already expressed their desire to suit up for the Philippine team in the future.
