MANILA, Philippines—Another high school prospect decided to forego the college route and joined the NBA G League’s select team.
Small forward Jonathan Kuminga, the no.4 player in ESPN’s rankings, will join high school standouts Jalen Green, Kai Sotto, Daishen Nix, and Isaiah Todd as per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
According to Charania, Kuminga is expected to sign a contract within the “$500,000 range.”
The 6-foot-8 Kuminga, who is the no.1 ranked player in 247Sports.com, received offers from collegiate programs Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana State, St. John’s, Texas Tech, Connecticut, and Washington.
Kuminga cut down his list to five—Texas Tech, Duke, Kentucky, Auburn, and the G-League—but ultimately decided to join the NBA’s select team coached by three-time NBA champion Brian Shaw.
Kuminga played his junior high school season at The Patrick School in New Jersey.
