MANILA, Philippines — Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, the Philippines’ representative to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), was named into the IOC Executive Board on Friday.
Jaworski, along with fellow equestrian Gerardo Wethein of Argentina, was elected to the board during the 136th IOC session held virtually for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
They will both serve a five-year term after replacing Sergey Bubka and Ser Miang Ng.

The 46-year-old Jaworski has served as the country’s IOC representative since 2013.
Her election adds to her impressive resumé, which includes a gold medal in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan and a gold medal in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games.
Jaworski, daughter of former Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr., also ruled the 2011 International Equestrian Federation World Dressage Challenge.
