MANILA, Philippines — Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have yet to meet each other in any official boxing event but the two have recently crossed paths in the unlikeliest of ways.

As per boxingscene.com, the heavyweight champions chanced upon themselves in the Spanish resort city of Marbella, where they’re vacationing–separately of course–with Joshua posting the coincidental meeting on his Instagram account.

Fury responded with a repost of Joshua’s photo on his Instagram Story.

“Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Caroline!! Ohhhh ohhh ohhhhh,” posted Joshua Saturday with the fist and explosion emojis while Fury captioned his post “2021 it’s going off.”

Joshua was on the sidewalk when Fury pulled up in front of him and rolled down his driver side window to have a little chat.

There have been rumors that the two champions will clash in 2021 and the fighters’ sides had discussions of a two-fight deal.

A 50-50 split, according to boxingscene.com, has been agreed for the first fight and a 60-40 edge for the winner in the rematch.

But before anything else, Fury and Joshua are due for a title defense against separate opponents.

Fury (30-0-1) is expected to defend the WBC title against Deontay Wilder in the third fight on Dec. 19 while Joshua (23-1), the holder of the IBO, WBO, WBA, and IBF championships, has a mandatory defense against Kubrat Pulev later this year.

A 2021 fight between the two, however, won’t be done easily as there are still a couple other boxers who want to go against the heavyweight kings.

Dillian Whyte has constantly pressed his position as the mandatory WBC challenger while former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk intends to use his mandatory shot as the top contender for Joshua’s WBO belt.
