MANILA, Philippines — The PBA’s training restart will have to wait for a little longer.
PBA teams were expected to return to practice beginning Wednesday but that won’t be the case with the league still waiting for the release of the Joint Administrative Order by the Games and Amusements Board, Department of Health and Philippine Sports Commission.
“I had a talk with Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra Thursday. He expects to get the administrative order this week,” said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial.
The PBA has already gained the approval of Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases to resume team practices last July 3 but holding workouts remain prohibited without the JAO.
Marcial, though, isn’t too worried despite the snag.
“There’s a little delay but we’re positive we’ll go on with the training return,” said Marcial.
The league has been on hiatus since March 11 due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
