Zero positive results from latest round of NBA COVID-19 testing

MANILA, Philippines — The NBA and its Players Association on Tuesday announced no player tested positive from coronavirus disease inside its bubble at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The results were based on the tests done exactly a week ago.

“Of the 346 players tested for COVID-19 on the NBA campus since test results were last announced on July 13, zero have returned confirmed positive tests,” the NBA and NBPA said in a statement.

“In the event that a player on the NBA campus returns a confirmed positive test in the future, he will be isolated until he is cleared for leaving isolation under the rules established by the NBA and the Players Association.”

The Orlando Magic were the first team to enter the bubble on July 9 while the other 21 teams invited into the campus followed soon after.

The news came just before the start of the intrasquad scrimmages slated July 23-29 which is the final preparation of the participating teams for the season restart.

The league also released the official team rosters Tuesday for the scheduled season resumption on July 31, four months after it was shut down due to the pandemic.
