MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Valdez surprised her parents with a brand new car with the volleyball superstar documenting it on her YouTube channel.
“Sa buong time na nag-aaral ako, nasa Manila lang ako lahat pino-provide sakin ng parents ko. So today hopefully maging masaya sila sa ibibigay kong gift sa kanila,” Valdez said in her vlog Thursday.
(They provided everything for me throughout the time I was studying in Manila. So hopefully, today I’ll be able to make them happy with my gift to them.)
“Actually wala silang idea sa mga mangyayari today. Akala nila may lunch lang kami so tignan natin,” she added.
(Actually, they have no idea what’s going to happen today. They thought we’re just going to have lunch so let’s see.)
The surprise went as planned with the former Ateneo standout’s parents left speechless.
“Alam ko naman na hindi masusukat or hindi mapapantayan kung gaano kadaming nasakripisyo at nabigay sa akin nang parents ko sa binigay ko today. So sana magamit nila, maging safe sila sa nabigay ko at sana ma-enjoy nila.”
(I know that I won’t be able to measure or match my parents’ sacrifices for me with what I gave them today. I hope they’ll be able to enjoy this and be safe.)
