Hosting a sportsfest far bigger than the Southeast Asian Games last year can be a feasible undertaking for the Philippines.
Though the country’s staging of the 11-nation meet wasn’t perfect, International Olympic Committee executive board member Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski is convinced that local organizers will get better once they engage in future hosting gigs.
“It’s very doable,” Cojuangco-Jaworski said on the capability of the Philippines to bring over the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and Asian Beach Games.
“But I also think that there’s a lot of things that has to be learned every time we get the opportunity to host any Games,” the former Asian Games equestrian champion said.—JUNE NAVARRO
