Hope Christian shocks FEU five

MANILA—Hope Christian High School (HCHS) extended its Cinderella run after pulling off a 70-69 escape over Far Eastern University to barge into the semifinals of the fourth FCBL Freego Cup over the weekend at the Buddhacare Gym.

King Benemirito stole an in-bound pass and buried the game-winning lay-up to complete the thrilling finish in the knockout quarterfinal match of the annual high school tilt also supported by Talk ‘N Text. Benemirito’s basket capped a 21-point performance that gave him Freego Player of the Game honors. HCHS faces National University in the knockout semifinal game today. The Bullpups encountered little trouble in dispatching University of Perpetual Help, 97-79, to advance to the semifinals of the tournament also supported by Powerbest.
