MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Basketball Association will have a lot of catching up to do if it pushes through in salvaging its season.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the league will very much likely have to play a condensed conference the moment sporting events are finally allowed to resume by the government.

“We already have something planned. We have a shortened and full conference schedule which will be presented to the Board,” said Marcial in Filipino during Tuesday’s PSA Forum webcast.

The PBA season has been suspended since March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Aside from holding an NBA-like “bubble” to finish the season, the PBA is also exploring the possibility of having games every day to compensate for the lost time.

That option, though, will only be viable if the TV coverage permits.

“Maybe we can do everyday but not just on TV5. There’s One Sports, Rush, Cignal,” said Marcial, referring to its broadcast partner TV5’s other channels.
