MANILA, Philippines — Drex Zamboanga had already made a name for himself in the URCC as the promotion’s bantamweight champion.
On Friday, Zamboanga announced his arrival in ONE Championship.
The 31-year-old Zamboanga kicked off his ONE campaign in style, stopping Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin in the undercard of ONE: A New Breed event at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Zamboanga showcased his striking early before displaying his mastery on the mat, submitting Detchadin with just two seconds left in the second round.
Zamboanga applied a rear-naked choke to put his Thai foe to sleep.
He notched his second straight win to improve his record to 8-5 after losing three in a row.
