MANILA, Philippines — Denice Zamboanga waited six months to get back into the action.

She needed only a few minutes to claim another win.

Zamboanga picked up where she left off, making quick work of Watsapinya Kaewkhong in the undercard of ONE: A New Breed Friday night at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 23-year-old Zamboanga quickly dominated the standup before taking the fight to the ground, where she forced her Thai opponent to tap with an Americana in the opening round.

The top atomweight contender stayed undefeated at 5-0 and kept herself on track for a world title shot against reigning champion Angela Lee.

Zamboanga’s victory made it a double celebration for her family with her older brother Drex also victorious in his ONE Championship debut.

Like Denice, Drex won by submission when he put Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin of Thailand to sleep late in the second round with a rear-naked choke.
