MANILA, Philippines—NLEX forward Kevin Alas and sports broadcaster Selina Dagdag tied the knot in a civil ceremony on Tuesday with plans of holding a church wedding next year.
Both Alas and Dagdag confirmed their marriage through their Instagram accounts.
“Meet Mrs. Selina Dagdag-Alas,” posted Kevin Wednesday along with a photo of the newlyweds.
“A Church Wedding is what we originally planned but we always remind each other that God is sovereign, and that He is in control of everything. What’s important is our love for each other. Praise God for the gift of love.”
Selina described their wedding as the “most joyful and peaceful” celebration.
“We had a small celebration in our new home, with just our immediate families present. It was the most effortless get together- my brother played the piano, my sister brought beautiful flowers, we ordered in food, we drank lots of wine, we dipped our feet in the pool. No frills. It was the simplest celebration, but the most joyful and peaceful one,” posted Selina. “I still can’t get over it.”
The couple dated for several years before Alas popped the question in 2019 when the two were vacationing in Taiwan.
Close friends and family attended the ceremony at the office of San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
“Can’t wait to celebrate with all our family and friends in our postponed church wedding and reception next year,” posted Selina.
