MANILA, Philippines — James De los Santos got another win over world No. 1 Eduardo Garcia and snagged his ninth and 10th gold medals in virtual tournaments to boost his bid for the top spot in the e-karate world rankings.

The 30-year-old De los Santos trumped Garcia by the slimmest of margins, 24.8-24.5, in the 4th Edition SportData eTournament World Series, considered as the most prestigious of the online meets with its point system awarding four times than that of normal competitions.

This was De los Santos’ second straight win over Garcia in a finals match after the Portuguese won their first two meetings.

“This tournament meant even more when I advanced to the final round against my rival: the world no.1, Portugal,” posted De los Santos on his Facebook account Saturday. “This is the fourth time I’ve faced him in a final showdown. I gave everything I had, and ended up snagging my 10th gold medal.”

De los Santos still sits in the second spot of the E-Tournament Karate Rankings and he’s not slowing down any time soon.

“My road to no.1 still continues, I won’t stop until I get there,” said de Los Santos.

His ninth gold medal of his season came during the Hatamoto Kai Mitad Del Mundo E-Tournament where he defeated Brazil.
