MANILA, Philippines—Philippine national jin Rodolfo Reyes Jr. nabbed the gold medal in the 2020 Lents Taekwondo Worldwide Online Poomsae Tournament that was held last September 20.

Reyes, an alum of University of Santo Tomas, secured the Philippines’ lone gold medal  in the competition with an average score of 7.35 points in the under-30 senior male category.

“I’m used to seeing judges in front of me to guide and rate my performance but in the ‘new normal’ … cameras serve as our judges,” said Reyes in a report from The Varsitarian.

Reyes, a gold medalist in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, performed two forms in the finals, scoring 7.34 on his Pyongwon and 7.36 in his Koryo.

Choo Rok Oh of Korea settled for the silver medal in the under-30 senior male division with an average of 7.235 points while Chiou Mu En of Taiwan and Patrick King Perez of the Philippines took the bronze with a mean score of 7.185 points.

Filipino jin Ernesto Guzman Jr. also nabbed a silver medal in the under-40 senior male division with a score of 7.13 points.
