MANILA, Philippines — Greg Slaughter is back in the country after spending the last seven months training in the United States.

The 7-foot center left for the US last March just a month after announcing his surprise sabbatical from basketball on social media.

His return is also in time for the PBA Philippine Cup restart in Clark on Sunday.

Slaughter, though, was not included in Barangay Ginebra’s official lineup released by the PBA on Tuesday as his status with the Gin Kings remains unclear.

The 32-year-old Slaughter helped Ginebra win four PBA titles including the 2019 Governors’ Cup last January.

Slaughter’s contract with Ginebra, however, expired at the end of January and his PBA career has been uncertain since.

But playing for Ginebra is not out of the equation with Slaughter, in a report that came out last July, saying he is “open to playing for Ginebra in the future.”
