MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel Beer guard Alex Cabagnot reached a career milestone on Tuesday.
Cabagnot became just the fifth active player with at least 8,000 points, as per the league’s chief statistician Fidel Mangonon.
The 37-year-old Cabagnot joined a company of MVPs such as his teammate Arwind Santos, Ginebra guard Mark Caguioa, Rain or Shine swingman James Yap and NLEX big man Asi Taulava.
It’s an honor just to be even in the same sentence as these legends. To God be the glory 🙏🏻

Cabagnot, who is in his 15th year in the league, is also the only player in PBA history with more than 8,000, 900 three-pointers and 3,000 assists, according to Mangonon.
The seven-time All-Star, who has helped SMB win nine PBA titles, had 18 points in a losing effort against Rain or Shine.
