MANILA, Philippines — The government’s COVID-19 task force has allowed the Philippine Superliga (PSL) to hold its beach volleyball tournament under a sports bubble concept, Malacañang said Friday.

“Approved, subject to conditions, are the holding of a beach volleyball tournament by the Philippine Super Liga under ‘sports bubble concept,’” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

“Ibig sabihin po mananatili sila doon sa lugar kung saan sila po magkakaroon ng volleyball tournament,” he explained.

The PSL canceled its Grand Pix conference back in March after President Rodrigo Duterte placed parts of the country under enhanced community quarantine due to COVID-19.

Medical liaisons were also appointed to monitor players and coaches during their training.
