Fil-Am Sage Tolentino commits to NCAA D1’s Auburn Tigers
MANILA, Philippines—Filipino-American prospect Sage Tolentino officially committed to US NCAA Division I school Auburn University, he announced on his Instagram account.
“My family and I have prayed about this day since I was a kid. I am beyond blessed and I give God all the Glory,” posted Tolentino Thursday.
Auburn, Cincinatti, Kansas, Tennessee State, and Kentucky all expressed interest in Tolentino. Only the Wildcats did not extend an offer to the 7-foot center from Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
A four-star recruit, Tolentino averaged 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks and helped Maryknoll to state championships in 2019 and 2020.
“Auburn University’s core traditions are passion and spirit and they are exactly the program I want to spend my time at developing at the next level. It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle!” wrote Tolentino.
