MANILA, Philippines — NorthPort finally barged into the win column after beating TerraFirma, 107-96, in the PBA Philippine Cup Saturday at AUF Sports Arena & Cultural Center in Angeles, Pampanga.

Christian Standhardinger bounced back from a subpar showing last Wednesday with a 23-point and 12-rebound effort that went with five assists as the Batang Pier stopped a four-game slide.

Kelly Nabong and Garvo Lanete added 18 and 14 points, respectively off the bench while Paolo Taha and Renzo Subido also registered double-digit outputs with 12 points each for NorthPort.

The Batang Pier fired on all cylinders, shooting 53% from the field including 14-of-27 from downtown with Nabong, Subido and Lanete hitting at least three triples in the game.

With TerraFirma still threatening, NorthPort hit three consecutive 3-pointers–two from Subido and one from Nabong–to stretch a five-point cushion to a 104-90 lead with only 1:40 remaining.

While NorthPort was finally able to breakthrough, a win remained elusive for TerraFirma, which is the only remaining winless team at 0-4.

CJ Perez scored a game-high 25 points for the Dyip, who also drew 19 points from rookie Roosevelt Adams.
