James De los Santos is not taking his foot off the gas pedal just yet.
The No. 1 e-kata athlete in the world continued his winning ways on Monday after pocketing his 17th gold medal.
De los Santos showed why he’s the best at what he does, tallying a record-high 26.1 in the final of the Katana InterContinental Karate League e-Tournament.
“17th Gold, and scored over 26 for the first time!” the two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist wrote on social media.
The 30-year-old karateka topped Juan Achio of Costa Rica, who scored 25.1.
