MANILA, Philippines—Family’s Brand-Zamboanga City Chooks notched the big one with a 22-19 (8:49) victory over Nueva Ecija in the Grand Finals of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup Friday at Inspire Academy in Calamba.
Joshua Munzon took charge late in the game for Zamboanga with a two-pointer over Jai Reyes, securing them the title in the “Million Peso Game.”
“From the start, we had a game plan and we stuck to it,” said Munzon. “Whether we won or lost, we just continued to do the same things over and over and over. Our will was tested, but the results speak for itself.”
Munzon, the no.1 3×3 player in the country, and Pasaol, the Philippines’ no.2, each had seven points while Santi Santillan and Troy Rike combined four eight points in the final.
Zamboanga’s run in the President’s Cup saw it win four of the five legs in the “Calambubble.”
In total, Family’s Brand took home P1.35 million in cash prizes while the Rice Vanguards pocketed P300,000 in the final game.
Pasig-Sta.Lucia finished third and received P100,000.
