MANILA, Philippines — Magnolia has been on a resurgence since starting the season at 1-4 thanks in large part to its main man Paul Lee.
Lee has been on a tear as of late and his torrid shooting has enabled the Hotshots to rack up five straight wins.
Just the past week alone where Magnolia went 4-0, Lee averaged 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists to claim the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week honor.
The 31-year-old guard kicked off the week with a 27-point outing in a 102-92 win over TNT before following it up with 29 points against Terrafirma and 31 points against Rain or Shine.
Lee capped off his impressive stretch with an all-around effort of 14 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
Guard Aaron Black, meanwhile, has been named Rookie of the Week after averaging 5.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists and giving Meralco quality minutes off the bench.
The Bolts, who are heading into their first Philippine Cup playoffs since 2015, went 3-1 during that stretch.
