Pingris expresses admiration for disabled baller: ‘I want to play with him’

MANILA, Philippines — Marc Pingris is known for his intensity and toughness inside the court.

But outside of it, Pingris always has a soft spot for those who are in need.

Just recently, a viral video of an amputee playing basketball on the street pulled on Pingris’ heartstrings with the Magnolia Hotshots veteran even sharing it on his Instagram.

He also asked his followers for leads on how to reach out to the disabled player.

“Kong sino man nakakakilala sa tao na eto pls naman bigay nyo name at number nya sa akin DM nyo po pls gusto ko sya makilala😊👍 pls! Pls! Kahit mabigyan ko lang ng sapatos at sando at gusto ko sya makalaro 😊hehe😊🙏” the former national team standout wrote on Monday.

(If there’s anyone who knows who he is, please DM me his name and number. I want to meet him. I want to give him shoes and sando. I also want to play with him.)

The 39-year-old Pingris, a nine-time PBA champion, wasn’t able to join Magnolia inside the bubble in Pampanga due to a calf injury.

The Hotshots just finished the elimination round of the Philippine Cup with a 7-4, having won their last six games.
