De los Santos back with more gold medals

MANILA, Philippines — James De Los Santos is back winning gold medals after ruling two tournaments in a span of 10 days.

The world’s no.1 eKATA practitioner beat world No. 10 Alfredo Bustamante of the United States, 24.80-24.48, to take the gold medal in the Okinawa eTournament World Series #2 for the 20th title of his career


De Los Santos then bested Switzerland’s Matias Moreno Domont, the No.4 ranked in the world, 25.3-24.2 for the Nox Dojo Markham City Open eTournament title, bringing his gold medal count to 21.

“Continuing to widen the gap in the virtual kata world rankings! I’m much more motivated!” posted De Los Santos on his social media accounts Sunday.


De Los Santos’ students at Maharlika Karatedo Kai of the Philippines International also won medals in the Okinawa eTournament World Series #2.

Julia Ian Marcos had a couple of gold medals with Fatima Hamsain earning two silvers and Christina Colonia taking a bronze.
