MANILA, Philippines — Two Filipino fighters will make their return inside the ONE Circle with Team Lakay’s Danny Kingad and atomweight Jomary Torres appearing in the undercard of ONE: Big Bang on Dec. 4 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Kingad (14-2), a rising star in the flyweight division, is expected to have his hands full against former champion Kairat Akhmetov.

A win over Akhmetov will be a big boost in Kingad’s aspirations to challenge for the belt. He is currently the No. 2 ranked fighter in his division with Akhmetov right behind.

Torres (4-4), on the other hand, is in dire need of a win after losing four of her last five bouts. Her last fight back in January against Jenny Huang was ruled a no contest after an accidental low blow.

She hasn’t tasted victory since she knocked out compatriot April Osenio in January 2018.

But getting back on track means hurdling India’s rising star Ritu Phogat, a wrestling champion who is currently 3-0 since making his ONE debut in November 2019.

The 25-year-old Kingad beat Wei Xie via unanimous decision in his last fight in January.

Kingad also hopes to turn Team Lakay’s fortunes around with the famed stable handed a string of setbacks in recent events.
