MANILA, Philippines — Filipino basketball star Thirdy Ravena alleviated any worries over his health after testing positive for COVID-19 in Japan.
Ravena, who plays for SanEn NeoPhoenix in the Japanese B League, showed symptoms of sore throat, malaise and fever of 38.2 on November 26, as per his team.
“All good over here. Appreciate all the love and concern over the past 24 hours. I feel well already but have to follow quarantine protocols indefinitely,” he posted on his social media accounts Saturday.
“Just a reminder that the virus is still out there so let’s not take it for granted. Stay safe everyone! Much love.”
The 23-year-old Ravena was tested for COVID-19 at a medical institution in Toyohashi and yielded a positive result.
His team, in a statement on Friday, also said that Ravena’s fever had gone down and that “he is still receiving medical attention now.”
