MANILA, Philippines — Much has already been said about Dwight Ramos, one of Ateneo’s top recruits this year.
All the talk surrounding the Fil-American guard grew louder after his breakout performance for Gilas Pilipinas on Friday night.
The 22-year-old Ramos delivered a perfect offensive game to lead a promising start for the young Philippine team in the second window of the Fiba Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers in Manama, Bahrain.
Ramos scored 20 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line as the Philippines blew out Thailand, 93-61.
The 6-foot-4 Ramos also had seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in less than 20 minutes of action and spearheaded a second-quarter breakaway that took the fight out of the Thais early.
His stellar performance was also a bounce-back game of sorts after he only five points against Indonesia during his Gilas debut in the first window of the qualifiers last February.
